Biography
Duncan Robertson is a Lecturer in Strategic Management at UEA London, Fellow of St Catherine's College Oxford, and Associate Fellow of the University of Warwick Department of Physics. Duncan Robertson was formerly a member of faculty of the Strategic Management group of Warwick Business School. He is a Chartered Accountant, having worked for KPMG, a leading accountancy and advisory firm, in their banking and corporate finance departments in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
After leaving the City of London, he completed his doctorate in Strategic Management at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. Following from visiting posts at the Santa Fe Institute and the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania, his current research interests at Warwick Business School are in the dynamics of competitive systems within turbulent environments.
His research uses advanced simulation techniques, which have resulted in papers being shortlisted for Best Paper prizes in the Strategic Management Society conferences, the leading international conference in the field of strategic management. His work concentrates on the modelling dynamic competitive interactions between firms and their environment, modelling the dynamics of decisions within firms, and the analysis of dynamic networks.
He was elected to the Advanced Institute of Management Scholars’ Pool, is a Member of the US Academy of Management, is a Chartered Physicist, and is a Fellow of St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford.
He is the co-author of the Oxford University Press book The Dynamics of Strategy and is on the editorial review board of the International Journal of Complexity in Leadership and Management and has provided consultancy to firms such as Unilever.
